The Nigeria Surgical Congress – Abuja 2024, themed “Current Management of Cancer in Nigeria: The Role of Surgical Care and Its Challenges,” was held from June 25 to 27, 2024, at the Abuja Continental Hotel, Federal Capital Territory. The congress convened surgeons, oncologists, healthcare professionals, and policymakers to address the pressing cancer care challenges in Nigeria and highlight the vital role of surgical intervention in cancer management.
As part of the congress activities, a pre-conference session was held on June 25 at the Trauma Centre of the National Hospital, Abuja. The main conference, which followed on June 26 and 27, featured keynote presentations, scientific sessions, and panel discussions on sub-themes such as the application of artificial intelligence in surgical training and improving pre-hospital trauma care.
